arthritis fingers

hola,

so for my friend lauren's birthday i started making friendship bracelets again.....and now all my friends want them for their birthdays.

so as i was going to greece and there was a 5 hour ferry to the island, i saw this as a perfect opportunity to make some bracelets as there are a lot of birthdays coming up. the 'chevron border bead' seems to be a quite popular choice.

and here are the results

this is one for my friend sadie, i was making the bracelet and fiddling with the owl button when i realised i could put the button on the bracelet!

woooooo this is the new cutting tool i got from the ferry lady (see below)

it's so cool you squeeze it and it gives you a very neat perfect cut - just right for my bracelets

this one is unfinished i'm getting beads at the weekend so in the bordered gap you see there will be FRI (my friend's initials) 

felt like i had arthiritus by the end of the holiday my fingers were so tired and achey :s

wooo this is my pride and joy! the big shell is an abalone shell i found whilst snorkeling and the others were ones off the beach that natrually had holes in them. beads and thread...well...i take my beading stuff with me everywhere ;)

it was amazing the greek people are so lovely :') when our toilet didn't work just for half an hour they brought us this massive plate of zuchini balls (which are the most delicious things) and this woman on the ferry who wanted to know how i was doing this certain bracelet technique gave me this cute cutting tool in exchange for  the teaching :D

BIG NEWS - I GOT 3 A*S IN BIOLOGY CHEMISTRY AND PHYSICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am literally so happy right now!!! see that!!

I SAW BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB LIVE!!!!!
they were so good, mad 'raving' for 4 hours solid (i really hate the word raving!)
it was my first gig, went with the lovely eliette and some friends from hastings but me and eliette were separated from them but then we found some orchestra friends further back and there was less beer chucking marijuana smokes :S hehe
i love the support acts; lucy rose and lianne le havas, they both had the most beautiful captivating voices :)
tried to keep my wristband on, but they made me cut it off in PE. uhhg.
OH and in still, the last number in 'a different kind of fix' everyone got their lighters out, and we were all swaying like in a music video :')

Meg's birthday

My friend Meg made me promise I would make her a cake for her birthday (we had orchestra in the evening and I was seeing her then). I was quite busy (but it was an inset day woooo), I managed to whip up this rather lovely cake with a few bits and bobs we had in the kitchen :) she loved it!!! Her mum even texted mine saying thank you too!!!

This is a really cool heart shaped silicone cake mould - it's so useful!!

I made some buttercream icing (with some careful consultation with my dad on where the green would look like mould or not - thankfully it looked lovely and spring themed!!) I also used mini eggs, hundreds and thousands and these very hard to used chocolate icing decorators

Flash ruins the quality :( I made a 'M' shaped stencil with some card to to an 'M' in the center for her name) but you couldn't see it so I outlined it with the dark chocolate icing

Anyway this week we've just had our photovoltaic (electricity) solar panels put in this week and we should start generating tomorrow. We already have thermal solar panels for our hot water but now we have 11 brand spanking new electric ones :D !! Apparently they're top of the range as they are 20% efficient compared to the normal 10-15% efficient ones. gxxx
